The Next Black

While technology is constantly moving forward and we are barely keeping up with it, the fashion, or better the people behind it are doing miracles with it.
This particularly documentary is showing how fashion can collaborate with technology, how connected are the two of them.

At the beginning we are introduced to 3D printing and smart clothing.
First is giving us ability to create pretty much everything we want to and I'm not talking only fashion. You can own a piece of metal or polymer and you can make it an art.
Second one is for all the people doing sports, because forget those stuff around your ankle, wrist, chest or wherever, you can now simply dress all the speed-o-meters, heart-o-meters and all other existing o-meters and you can enjoying the work without them being in the way, wrapped around your body.  :)

The second part of the movie is even more interesting, knocking on our conscience.  It's another step forward - adding nature to the previous couple. With all the existing problems we already have with environment and climate changes we don't really need more of that.
That is why I love the idea of  making clothes and accessories with a little help from our mother nature.

Everybody are buying new clothes, shoes and accessories daily and are always concerned about not wearing the same skirt twice in a row, or when go out partying it's nearly a must to wear new outfit from tip to toes. Rather than buying new it's not easier but it's better to remake it and make it look new.
That's why Rick, Sophie and IFIXIT are a breath of fresh air, dealing with unnecessary needs and the negative impact that fast fashion has on the nature. And us.

Worth the watching, they tell it perfectly.

It's educative and puts what we know to a new, much needed perspective.
